Still having shift problems after adjusting the TV cable

The subject says it all guys. Before I went to adjust the cable it was out about an inch or more, so I put it back in the zero postion. I tried both methods I could find on the boards, one said to open the blades and let the TV cable click, the other said just to set it to zero. Well My car runs better on 1 click. The shift points are lower, but it still is higher then normal and shifts damn hard. Anyone got any ideas or any thoughts?

You need a line pressure gauge to verify this, but it sounds like your throttle valve spring (behind the tv plunger on the valve body) is not returning the throttle valve to its proper idle position, requiring an "over-adjustment" of the tv cable to compensate. This is just a educated guess at this point, it would be worth the $30 to buy a pressure gauge and take some readings to know for sure before you take the pan off... I got a new spring with my tv made ez kit from bowtie overdrives (www.700r4.com); they also sell a pressure gauge...

For more info and to understand this system better, look at www.tvmadeez.com, its a great site with all the info concerning the tv system on our trannys...
