Is my 700 about to poop, you be the judge.

First off I want to start by saying that I do have a 2400 TCI convertor in the car.

This just started happenig about 2 days ago. I was on my way over to my buddies house to finish up the re-re-install of his badass 355 LT1 (making 392hp at the wheels, while burning 3 rocker arms:eek And I am getting ready to take an exit/entrance ramp on to another highway. So I usually pull it into 3rd gear so that I can get the rpm's up from a chugging 1500 in OD to somthing more like 2000 where I have a little bit of power in Drive.

Well, I waited and waited but I never felt a downshift, you always feel a downshift I thought... huh...

Anyway, I pull it down into 2nd while on the highway going 70, and the rpm's SLOWLY climb up to about 4000 or wherever they are at 70 in 2nd gear... no harsh downshift. And I felt it kinda engage into 2nd gear. it was very slight...

What the hell happened to my tranny? cable need to be adjusted? I'm at work so I'll try to work on it later.

could just be your mind playing tricks on you, however for
the 3-2 shift, I do know that if your rpm's are too high, or
for the shift if they're GOING to be too high, the tranny
will refuse to downshift.

i've done the 3-2 shift myself sometimes too, and waited and
waited, and thought I finally blew up the tranny, but it's
kicked down the gear once I started slowing down more,
I figured it was some kinda prevention method to keep
people from ****ing their trannies up.

as for the OD-D shift, could just be your mind fooling you,
it sounds like it changed gears, it could be your torque convertor
not putting a large enough load on the tranny to actually let
you feel the downshift.

dunno. I wouldn't expect the worst though, till it REALLY
makes itself evident. when you go WOT and it starts to
slip crazily on the 2-3 shift, you know it's diying.
