towing 250 miles

i bought a parts car with a blown tranny and have to tow it a good 250 miles i am going to use a dolly and my question is do i have to dissconnect the drive shaft since the tranny is already ****ed up i would use a trailer but there is no way i am getting the car up there with a busted tranny

Just pull the driveshaft. It "might" work just fine with the tranny in Neutral, but if you've ever had my kind of luck, the tranny will lock up while towing the car down the road at 70 mph

any suggestions on how to get it onto a trailer because i think i can find one from my sisters boyfriend but u-haul.com says my car is to wide for their dolly

p.s. my sisters boyfriend's brother owns an excavation company i think i can get a trailer

There are a couple of ways to get it on the trailer.

1. You can use a come-a-long.
2. You can use one of the machines from your sister's boyfriends excavation company and push it on. Obviously this might not be the best choice for the paint job.
