Oil leak at axle tube?

I know that my differential is leaking fluid, that is the obvious part. But it looks like it is leaking in 2 spots. The first is at the bottom of the pumpkin, but I'm more concerned about the leak that apears to be coming from the driver's side axle tube! It looks wet from around the front of the housing.

I'm just wondering if this is even possible, or do I have some real problems here? The previous owner said that it needs a bearing because it is making a bunch of noise, could it be that the axle tube is damaged there?

If it's a 10-bolt, and it needs a bearing, then it also needs an axle, since the axle itself is the inner race of the bearing (the bearing rollers ride directly on the axle). About 99% of the time when an axle seal leaks it's because the axle and bearings are wasted.

Well the bearing and axle aren't my concern right now, I think it is a 9 bolt anyway. I am worried about the axle tube seperating from the pumpkin. That shouldn't be a place where I would expect oil to leak from, should it?
