3spd 200c out t700 in ??

my car 1982 Z/28 has a metric 3 spd auto (i think its called a 200c) in it but i will be putting a 4 spd t700 from an 83 T/A in it,,,,will the speedo cable,,the crossmember and the torque rod from the turbo 200c fit without having to buy more parts ,,,,and will the torque converter from the t700 fit directly up to a 400ci flex plate as the engine is a 1976 400,
I am in australia and need all the info i can get to get this job done ASAP,,,,not many of these cars here get modified ie: engine swaps, gearbox upgrades, etc,,,please all information will be great,,need advise ,,,

Speedo cable should work. Crossmember will not; the 200C one is farther toward the front of the car. The 82 chassis doesn't have teh holes in it that the 700 / T-5 crossmember bolt to, so you'll have to install them. If the 400 is in the car now, and the 200 converter bolts up to it, then the 700 one will too. The drive shaft will be the wrong length, you'll need a 700 / T-05 one of those too. I'm not sure about the torque arm.

My advice would be to locate one in the boneyard, and get all the stuff off of it that touches the trans, every single piece; that way you'll cut down on the number of mid-job surprises.

drill holes if you have to, or if enough subframe is left, will be even better if you have connectors under the car

youll need shorter driveshaft of course around 43.5" from jpoint to joint overall- minus yoke length, yoke is same, just swap over if you find a shaft that is missing it, but be weary of ujoint sizes, if cant help it then napa can get you conversion Ujoint with two sizes/widths of caps

personally id go with th350 shorttail for sake of direct length and driveshaft fitment, what ratio is your rear axle, if isnt 3.42 or 3.73 then that be even more reason to go with a th350 shorty, and it should be 3.08 or close to 3.08 if is original 200c car, even though some 3.08 cars did get the 700r4, but is kinda overkill IMHO, in my case ive got the 82 trans am factory 2.73 with 200c and 305 and im going with th350 shorty and gonna find a 3.42 or 3.73 axle for it which are common and i dont care much about rpm reductiono, ill be glad to cruise in upper 2k rpm range at 65mph, gas milage is overrated IMHO

good luck
