This normal?
My 700R4 was rebuilt just over a year ago. The tranny shifts into 1st gear at about 3200 rpm, into 2nd at around 3200, and into third at around 2700, all under on light to medium throttle.
The shift into 1st and 2nd are hard, hard enough to squeal tires in the 1-2 shift when under heavy throttle. At WOT it shifts at 4500 or so. When in 1st the car moves slowly, rpms build fast, then it shifts, same thing happens in 2nd. It only acts funny when cold, its like the car is bogged down(could it be engine?). Also, at 35-40 mph it hunts between 3 and 4 gear.
Any of this normal?
What are the shift points(in rpm's and mph) of the 700r4?
Thanks,
Matt

Already tried. Will do it again though. All you have to do is pull it and let go right? I have a 305 TPI.

The "hunting" gear may actually be torque converter lockup engaging/disengaging, this was a problem on the earlier 700R4 equipped cars.
To adjust the TV cable, follow the instructions in the tech article, if after doing that it is still acting up on the shifts, try lengthening the cable 1 notch after setting it , if it improves but doesn't fix it completely, try going 1 more notch. I wouldn't go more than 2 notches longer than the factory settig though.
