Are you supposed to feel the car shifting through the gears even in an automatic? When I am accelerating it is like a completely flat line, like, soft. Especially when I floor it. This might seem like a silly question but I have amnesia and I really can't remember if it was always this way or gradually got so! It seems like it used to shift a little harder. Also when I am slowing down sometimes I hear a tiny little thump, not like the tranny mount which I have experienced before, which was a great big thump. Any advice is welcome.

 

You should be able to feel a slight shift, nothing hard though.

 

Julie you may need some Tv adjustment to firm up your shifts, when your plenum was ported and installed back the TV cable may not have been adjusted correctly. About the Thump is this when your coming to a complete stop? I know mine thumbs like what your are mentioning in Drive but in over drive it does not Thump. I have had that problem with a few Iroc's I have owned, rebuilts fixed them.. Are you ready to line them up again? Don mentioned that you were asking Who is that in that Red Iroc Have Kevin burn you a chip and let's go have some Fun..

 

Guys im having the same problem with the thumping. It only happens in od and not in drive. Do i have to get a rebuild to fix it!!!!!!!!!!!!! i dont have that kind of money Is this gonna casue other problems down the road? Its just annoying and i would like to get rid of it thanks.

 

hmm odd, mine was just rebuilt, and it has always done the thump at a stop in D but not OD. Its brand new, shouldn't be the tranny...any ideas?

yup same ehre jsut rebuilt about 8k ago and have had a tranny cooler on it for the last 4k. Its got a 2600 stall vette servo and heavy duty clutches. oNly in drive. Just want to know if its fixeable without pulling tranny or replacing sumthing. Seems like theres alot of people with this problemo
