Power glide or 400

I'm almost near finishing my 383 and since I'm in cali with the mod's I did it wont pass smog. But my Questin is for a strip car what is better the "power glide" witch is lighter and dont take much power to run Or the "trubo 400" the 3 speed? and I hered that it take's 40 HP to run. I got a power glide for free a few years ago and put it away just in case I would ever need it.

if you run a PG in a race car you don't want one from GM. PGs are for light cars 2800 lbs or so at most.

i have a th400 is you need it and you dont look far from me. it has a new torque converter with it. i can probably cut you a good deal because i dont need it.

i thought that PG's only had two gears. 3 gears would be a lot better. also th400's can withstand a lot of hp.
