another flywheel question
im having a hard time locating a 2 piece RMS flywheel....I have a 1 piece RMS flywheel sitting in the shop with less then 20K miles.
Is it possible to have it machined to fit my engine?
is it safe?

doesn't really seem to me that it would work because, you know the end of your crank has that tab kinda thing on it, that is a part of the crankshafts balancing weight, on a 1 piece rear motor the crank does not have that shape it is just round, well you still gotta have the weight of that tab area to balance out the crank, but they can't put the extra metal inside so, its on the flywheel instead.
btw if you read my post in your other thread you shoulda found what you would need

Are you looking for a "flywheel".. which is for a manual transmission, or a "flexplate" which is used for automatics?
The flexplate, any decent auto parts store has it. As for the flywheel, most parts stores should have 'em...as well as GM. Check Ebay and the classified on this site.
