Transmission: TH400 4,000 stall
Axle/Gears: Currie 9", 4.56 gears
If you're going to be around 400 - 500 hp, the TH350 if built right would hold up just fine. I picked up a TH400 for 100 bucks and had it rebuilt when the stock tranny blew up. Also had plans of putting a big block in but that'll be a few years down the road now I think. Halfway done getting parts for the 350 I'm building

Or...just buy a Pro-built 700r4 and a good convertor...why not? Price is more, yes...but then you keep VSS, TCC lockup, cruise control and your ECM happy...
I have found that unless you are running a carbed setup, it is best to stick with a 700r4...
