hi i am swapping in a 4th gen rear end with 3.42 gears.
i have everything execpt the speedo gears. i don't kow where to get them.
i have an 89 iroc 305tpi/700r4.

Any GM dealer. I'm assuming you're switching from a 2.73 in which case it's easier to use a 45T gear (although your speedo will be off 2%)

thanks, but can i get the one from 700r4 and it will still work??

thats the green on correct the 45 tooth one. and what do u mean that it will be off 2%, my tires are a little under sized. will it be off. so at 65 i will be really doing 66.5 or 63.5???

THe one from 700R4 is for cable driven speedo's.

The one I bought can be ordered fom gmpartsdirect for like $3.50.


I don't know about with undersized tires, but with stock tires, at 98MPH your speedo will read 100. At 49, it'll read 50.

You CAN get it dead on if you feel like removing the tailshaft and replacing the drive gear too.
