rearend questions, please help
Trying to buy a posi rear end, and got a lead on an '85t/a that is sitting in a barn in the country. Guys says he's sure it's a posi. But here's what's been done to try and check it (and please understand I am not the one doing the checking). He could only jack up one wheel (not sure why but that's what he said). When he has one wheel up and the car in neutral, he can only rotate the up wheel about 1/4 turn in either direction (sounds good so far), but when he puts it in 1st (and far as I know that's the only shifter positon he checked, it's an automatic btw) he can turn the up wheel freely and get's motion out of the driveshaft.
Anyone know what's up, or can any conclusion be drawn from this (I know the best thing to do is take the diff cover off, but the floor the thing is in is very muddy, and I don't trust getting under it even on stands).

Its really hard to tell that way if it is a posi or not, i would want solid proof, as in pulling the cover on the diff, or at least a rpo code saying it is a posi.
Also where are you from in TN.

Hendersonville (just north of Nashville)
And can't get to the RPO codes, there aren't any in the console, got no keys so can't check the hatch, and the hood is gone (heard somewhere they were on bottom of the hood in some of these cars)
