Whoops.
My narrowed housing came off of 78 Blazer. aka truck... The Eaton posi I bought is a new #4 series aka truck unit (to match the housing). I emailed Strange for info on axles and everything else I may need to have the rear assembled (not by me... dont know anything about rear end assembly). The reply I got tonight was the only truck axles they sell are "race only" not suitable for street use. Did I make another major screw up in the learning process!?! I do want to try to put this on the street but only for VERY minimal driving (within 3 miles from home), and to drive it to track which is about 5 miles away. What problems would I get into putting race only axles in and driving this limited amount. I really dont want to start over again on the rear assy. This is the only major hurdle getting the body ready for my welder. My ladders are getting welded to this so I want it to work right the first time. Going to call Strange in the morning, the rep said the response will be long. This project is really starting to turn into a Trailor Queen and I didnt want that.
