what size stall?
what size stall?
im about to buy a vigilante stall. what size would be best? current mods are in sig, basically exhaust. in the future the car will have an lt4 hotcam 1.6 rr's pro top line heads, and maybe 3.42 gears. i would like to have a stall that would work good now and after all these mods. what do you guys recommend?

Its really hard to say. The LT4 hot cam would much rather have a higher stall converter, but the stock TPI would probably fare better with a lower stall. Just my 2˘, but I would probably comprimise and go with about a 2500-2600 stall. If you get some better flowing TPI parts, then I would probably bump it up some more.

I would install the cam first along with any other mods you plan on doing. I think the TC should be the last thing you do. If you plan on doing a lot of mods then you may shift your torque curve. You need a TC that matches the torque curve.

now i'm using a YANK SS3300 nitrous converter from www.vincihighperformance.com but you may not want to spend $895
but if you want one around 2500 get this one.

The 2800 would be fine. I have a 2800 stall on my 305. It is going to limit you on your cam, heads, and intake if you ever decide to go that route. The 3.42 gears would tighten that stall up also. So, if you are willing to waste the money, the 2800 will work really well on your current setup.
