I have an '83 T/A with a 4spd automatic transmission (200K miles on the car, not sure if tranny has been rebuilt). I'm guessing it's the 700r4 tranny. I've got the chance to get a 4spd automatic transmission w/ only 8K miles on it off a '99 Camaro for almost nothing. Does anyone know if that tranny would bolt right up to the '83 or would i need to do some fabrication work to make it fit? The camaro is the V6 version if that helps. Thanks!

No, newer transmissions 93+ are 4l60e's they use the ecm to cotroll shifts instead of the t.v. cable. Not sure if the 3.8 bolt pattern is the same either, I dont think it is.
