Huston we have a problem

So I just finished my 200c to 700r4 swap yesterday... As soon as I had my 82 trans am back on the ground I fired her up. Then after she was warmed up I sat down in the drivers seat and shifted it into drive... And nothing happend. So I tried all the other gears... And nothing happend. Any Ideas what might cause this? I am not by any means a transmission expert, all I know is that I do remember putting everything back together. The 700r4 transmission is from a 1986 camaro. The guy I got it from said it worked when he took it out of his camaro. But that was about 3 years ago... The tranny was in my garage for quite some time. I was thinking that maybe it could be a bad torque convertor? Either that or I need to add more trans. fluid, as Its a little low. Any input is appreciated!

Well, definitely add fluid, if it's low. Good place to start.

I'm assuming that the torque converter is bolted to the flex plate, the driveshaft is installed, and the shift linkage is hooked up. Given those things and of course enough fluid, it should work; if it doesn't, then something inside is stuck from all the sitting. Although, that doesn't happen real often.

Check your work carefully. It would really bite to pull it all the way back out, only to discover some simple thing left undone.
