ah, please help me replace TV cable!
OK i swapped from TBI to TPI and...
the TV cable is too short!!! how the heck do i replace it or make it longer? It looks like imma have to drop the pan.... errr...

You don't have to drop the pan to replace, or change the TV cable, though it does make it easier.
You just need a 10mm socket to get the boot off of the tranny, then pull the cable off the hook and pull the whole cable through the top, make sure you remember how it routes though.
As for a TV cable? Get one from GM for a TPI car, don't bother with the NAPA, or Autozone crap as they suck. I ordered mine at a dealer and it cost me $38 bucks, but that was money well spent.
Putting the TV cable back on is the PITA part of the project though. Getting the loop at the end of the TV cable to STAY on the damn tranny hook was the hard part, because it wanted to slip off if you didn't keep a small amount of tension on it.
GL with it, there are some instructions and lots of posts on this if you do a search for it.

thanks man! i was talking to a tranny shop and they were like "you have to drop the pan on the 700R4"
I guess ill find out when i pull that bolt out... in my TH350 i didnt have to drop the pan...
