Part
Does anyone know what this broken part is. It fell off my car after the tranny downshifted into second on moderate acceleration.
Looks like a heat sheild - made of aliminum and it has PN 1616708 on it.
The driveline now has a bad vibration and it's there in neutral as well - shifts OK though and fluid seems alright.
Before this happened I noticed some vibration today at around 2500.
I won't be able to get the car up on stands for while hence the question about this thing.

Got it in one.
I just went down and checked - there's a blade missing.
I had my tranny rebuilt a couple of months ago. The converter was bad and it vibrated a lot eventually taking out the tranny because they all tried to tell me it was anything but a bad converter.
It was really difficult to get the shop to redo the work because they say they don't make enough on these things - so when this happened I thought here we go again because the vibratation was pretty much the same as before.
Anyway thanks for your response.
I 'm relieved to know that I don't need another tranny.
