swap 9 bolt disc brakes on 10 bolt
Yeah, you can swap them no problem. I have an 89 which had that 9-bolt with a 2.77 gear. I just installed a 10-bolt out of a 92 with a new richmond 3.73 gear and mosier axles. All the brakes bolt up real easy. Now im kicking myself because i want a 12-bolt to handle my new motor. i only put 400miles on this rear end after $1200!! ....oh well

yes they should work without too much hassle. seeing that you have a 89', there should be no problem(PBR rear brakes). i do recommend getting the disc backing plates for 10bolt though. that will make the swap even easier.
if you need the 10bolt backing plates PM me or email me. i have a set for sale.
