Adjusting my TV detent cable.

Hi.

I read the article in the tech section about adjusting the TV detent cable to help if the tranny is shifting poorly. My 700R4 definitely is, so I'm very interested in giving this a try.

I have an '83 TA, and the picture in the tech article is of the 2.8, rather than the 5.0. Where is the TV detent cable on my engine? I'm really hoping that once I locate it and figure out how to adjust it, the shifting problems I'm having will cease to exist.

Also, any tips on how to adjust the cable? The tech article was alright, but I could definitely benefit from another explanation.

Thanks!

The button that you push is on the bracket just behind the TB on the drivers side. For me it was just trial and error on adjusting the cable. I just adjusted it until it started shifting at the RPM that I wanted it to shift at.
