BENDING 700R4 steel lines

I am almost done with my header/full exhaust install on my '87 IROC-Z.

My only problem is my y-pipe is not able to go up high enough because it is hitting the tranny lines. I need them to go up about 1-2 inches.

Is it possible to bend these lines? Easily? How prone are they to breakage?

HELP!!

Yes. Yes. Not very.

Use a tubing bender. You can probably "rent" one at Auto Zone and those type places. You can even make new ones, or cut them off and flare them (using another tool you can "rent") and use a union fitting to hook them up.

I wouldn't worry about breaking them, when I swapped my engine I decided to pull the tranny with it , well I happened to forget about the lines and they ended up going into the A/C cooler (if thats what its called). Anyway they made a pretty big whole in the little pieces of metal, bent a little bit, but most of all held all the weight of the engine when I tried pulling it forward b4 I realized what was happening....So yeah I wouldn't worry too much about breakage

Be careful when you bend it. Make sure you done crimp it to the point where it restricts flow.
