Shifting to soon

I have an 86 T/A with an automatic transmission, 5.0 L, and when Im driving in Drive or Overdrive, when I first take off, it will shift from 1st to 2nd at 2500 RPM's. I want to make it shift at least at 4000 RPM's. How would I go about doing this?

Yep, when you aren't driving at WOT it will shift just where it is..2500 RPM, give it a WOT trial and it should shift at around 5k.
