tranny wont shift into Overdrive

Car: 1990 Camaro RS
Engine: 305 TBI
Transmission: 700R4
what happened to my Overdrive????
I have a 700R4 tranny and it doesnt seem to be shifting into OD. When on the open highway my RPMs are very high, around 3700 at 65 MPH. What could be the problem, TV cable? Something stuck in the valve body of the tranny. Please help.

My tranny when it shifted into overdrive felt like it went to near neutral, revved high with no power rechig the rear wheels.
It also started out in second and would not ,ever shift to first gear.
Before I went out and had it rebuilt, or even diagnosed I unplugged the battery for 24 hours, seems it was in sfae mode, after i hooked battery back up the problems went away and haven'yt had any trouble since. I suggest anyone with tranny problems, or weird actig tranny disconnect the battery for 24 hours and see if it helps..
something about a "safe mode" to save your tranny if it isnt roigth doesnt allow lockup i OD, or shifts to first gluck
