My 700r-4 won't shift out of second

I thought my tv cable needed adjusting, but i am now thinking that the transmission is going out. The car shifts fine between 1st and second gear but when it revs to about 6,000 it goes down into the red and just keeps revving. What the hell is going on. Is it trashed or what?

3/4 clutches are smoked. Time to yank it for a replacement or a rebuild.

If it shifts "ok" at light to medium throttle openings, then it is a "oil volume" problem (not enough oil to make 2-3 shift at WOT). The Trans-Go Performance Shift kit will "triple" the volume of oil to the 3-4 clutch pack to help complete this shift.
