T200 reving too high...?
Question:
I have a stock 1982 Pace Car with the automatic T200 3 speed tranny and posi rear.
The car is staying stock but I think I'm reving too high.
These are the results on level ground and steady throtle:
@ 62.5 mph the tach reads 2500 rpm
@ 70 mph the tach reads 2700 rpm
Gas mileage is particularly poor yet the tranny fluid is full and no other problems. Years ago I recall driving on the highways and cruising at just over 2000 rpm. This my imagination or am I reving too high?
Anyone with this tranny able to give some feedback?
Thx, Ron

Yeah - sounds about normal but I think you've got different gears in the axle than I do to be getting 2700 at 70mph; although you should maybe confirm that the lock-up is working
Probably the only way you're going to improve on it is to swap in a 700R4 with O/D but then the car would'nt be correct anymore.
By the way, can you make it to that CCFBG show we're having on the 13th. It looks like we'll be moving it to the Street Classics show that happens every Sat at the CT store location on the Queensway at 427 - we need some historically significant thirdgens to show up and your car is in that category.
Edit - Lol.. that's not say that you aren't historically significant yourself but we do need a good turnout as we'll probably have our own section at the show.

Sure George, I should be able to make it.
I had the car home this weekend but forgot about the CT cruise. Can you send some more details about your show... missed the meeting yesterday.
Thx, Ron

Should be something on the board about it early next week - first we have to confirm with Street Classics that we can get a section for our cars - so I'm going there this Sat to do that.

So there's a cruise there every Saturday night?
I did find the info on Mark's board... but no mention of the Street Classics... keep me posted.
