Downshift question...

Transmission: ProBuilt 700R4
Axle/Gears: Moser 12 Bolt / 3.73 TrueTrac
Downshift question...
First off the tranny is healthy. No problems, shifts fine...etc
If I am going 30-33ish mph, and I go WOT, I get a nice downshift to first and the car takes off hard. But if I am going 35 mph, and I go WOT, it will downshift into second. Is this normal? I would think it could go into 1st at that speed.

No, I am saying if I am driving at 35mph, and I floor it, it will downshift to second. If I am going 30-33 mph, it will downshift to 1st if I floor it.
And I am thinking it should downshift to 1st at 35 and not second.
