Dropping the pan will help you confirm you have your new tv cable adjusted right, but it won't really be easier. If you don't take the pan off, make sure to drain/siphon out some fluid or you will get drenched when you take the old cable off (it can burn you pretty damn well too, thats just what I've heard..
).. It's always a good idea to check your tv cable adjustment with a gauge though, just in case your tv valve spring has become compressed over time and is not doing its job right... The gauge is only like 29.95 from bowtie overdrives (http://www.700r4.com)...
