Shifts really hard...tranny mount?

When accelerating, the car shifts really hard. Especially 1-2. It gets less noticeable when shifting to the next gears but it's still there. Also, when shifting from park to reverse or drive it jumps hard. I heard the first problem (hard shifts while accelerating) is most likely a broken tranny mount, but could this also be the cause of the park to drive/reverse jumps? I heard also that this is 'normal' but my '91 RS never did it...and neither does any other car I've driven. So, it probably will need a new tranny mount? If so, I heard it's extremely easy to change yourself, but just for knowing, how much would a shop charge to change it out? Anyone ever gotten a tranny mount replaced by a shop? Thanks!

yeah i am sure plenty of people had shops do it.

support the tranny with a jack only alittle pressure on the pan, unbolt crossmember, unbolt the mount (one nut), put new one in, bolt everything back up. takes about 15 minutes.

invest in a poly mount, i like the prothane brand, spohn sells it.

when u tranny shifts and the whole console moves u know ur mount is gone
