What's normal for reverse in T-5's??

Since I got my IROC a few months ago it has mostly been in storage. The few times I've driven it it has been perfect. One thing I'm noticing form time to time is that when it is sitting still and running with the trans in neutral and the clutch pedal out (just sittin' there running) when you kick the clutch in and try to go into reverse it sometimes resists or make a slight grinding noise as it engages reverse, kind of like reverse is not fully synchronized. Is this normal or am I looking at a shot synchro??

Hmmmmm....... Reverse works just fine once it is in gear, and if you kick the clutch in and wait 30 seconds it will go right in with no grinding at all. What do you all think?

Thanks, K

I dont believe reverse is a syncroed gear, my trans does the same thing. If I shift into 5th then reverse, it stops everytyhing moving in the trans and it wont grind.

Yup 91dubz28, is right on, no syncro for reverse, 5 to R is the trick!

This place is the shiznit - you all are great with replies.
I'm learning so much about my new-to-me IROC-Z by asking questions like this on here - i did not know, but was beginning to think, that reverse was not a shnchro'd gear and you all quickly confirmed it - awesome.

Thanks for the answer guys,
K
