Reverse lockout
Reverse lockout
My T/A doesn't lock in neutral--it can easily be hit into reverse w/o depressing the button. what's a good way to fix that-and how does that happen? Did the neutral safety switch get disconnected maybe?
I just installed a Hurst Dual Gate Shifter II in place of my broken shifter... it doesn't use a button, but has a built in reverse lockout on it. Basically, it hits a metal barrier, so you have to push the shifter to the right and up to get to reverse.

the stock one works by having a bar slide over notches...
over time thoes notches wear down... eventually, you can shift without pressing the button.
the usual solution is to get another shifter, either stock or aftermarket.
