what happened to my bird ??

i was on my way home tonight and i had my hand on the shifter and it slipped into neutral and kept going for some reason into reverse, but i dindt have hte button pushed in. then when i went to park it i had to back up to get in my spot and it won't go into reverse now it just sits there. When it is in neutral it puts it into drive and it is all messed up now

anyone got any idea waht happened ??

You fukt it up.Time for a new tranny (or a rebuild). Future refrence buttons fail so it is a good idea not to push on the shifter while it is in D.

possible cable caught on something or slipped. Try pushing in the button and moving it all the way down to "1" and then moving it back up and see where it goes.

Make sure the linkage didn't come loose at the transmission. Its common for the two bolts that hold the bracket to come loose.

gm tech, do you think the tranny is fried, or the fluid just got roasted from it being stuck or whatever happened, it seems to shift and go into gear fine now, but ihavn't tried driving it
