World and non world please help t5
aight heres the problem ive got a 91 z28 with a t5 this was the stock t5 nothing special ive got to t5 output shafts from 88 and earlier f-bodies and there both wrong! it hard to describe but about half way up the shaft there is a longer bearing on the one that came out of the 91, the other two t5s have a very short bearing there. i was wondering if anyone had a pic of a worldclass t5 output shaft, thanks for any help also im almost possitive that all t5s out of f-bodies took ATF and NOT gear oil correct? thanks - Tricked-Out-Toy
If the main shafts look different, they are probably out of non world class tranny's. As far as I remember, the shaft out of the world class had much better oil flow 'ports' for better lubrication. The regular t5 did not.
main differences between the two tranny's are (on the wc): better synchros (organic) and cone bearings.
Warning: RB may chime in here and display his affection for the 'world class' terminology...LOL
