Anyone ever installed a torque converter lock-up harness?

I was looking through jegs..and I saw this: http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...74&prmenbr=361
Can anyone please explain to me what this does? Does it keep the torque converter from going in and out of overdrive or what? How does this install??? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Ive used the b&m kit for non CCV but this one is a tad different. Apperently this fools the ECM into thinking its at a lower speed. So if your going 35MPH and the TC usually locks it will delay it to a certain speed like 45 MPH. This can help in city driving when stop and go traffic is more then "X" speed or if you like to race from a roll. ID spend money else where if I still had a 700r4,

I have a 2500 stall, that is a lock up type. I plan on upgrading to a 3000 stall, but I do not want to retain the lock up feature. Lock up helps out on the gas mileage, but gets in the way of performence. It depends on whether or not you do a lot of freeway driving or drag racing. I guess what I'm suggesting is un plug the lock up plug on the side if the transmission, and drive the car and see what you think.

I have a stock torque converter on it now.....I usally drive in the country/city....but when i go a steady speed of about 40-45....it shifts into overdrive....and it seems pretty doggy...thought maybe this lock-up would help out on that....I went ahead and ordered it....should be here thursday...I can't install it till probably next spring though....it's getting cold here...and I doin't have a garage of anything....

It's real easy to instal ,altough you have to go under the car.
It' just a matter of putting the harnass between the already excisting wire at the tranny.
5 minutes work.
I have it on my car, don't notice a great difference, the lock up will only in 4 and at slightly higher rpm.

glad to hear it's not that hard to install....I haven't even looked to where it's supposed to be installed yet. I'll have to put my car on jackstands right?

You need to unplucg a wire on top of the tranny, and plug the harnass in, so yes you need something to lift/ work under the car,but with a good pocket torch and a blanket on the ground to crawl on, you might succeed!
