B&M megashifter bracket problem.
My bracket is similiar to this but not the same one. The problem is I had to bend it a lot to make it clear. The piece pointed to in the picture would hit on the other side when I tried to get it into park.
Is there some type of washer behind that? I think with a washer behind it, it would clear when flat. Then maybe it wouldnt be as hard to shift.
what you guys think? BTW the problem is that it is very hard to shift out of park.

The bracket should clear... it is kind of a stairstep bend bracket... the part that bolts to the trans should be farther in than the 3 selecter holes. If you had it on backwards then it would hit the pan/bottom of trans.
In the picture your bracket looks just like the 2 i've done.
Maybe grind of a hair of the back of the black slide through part. But not too much or you wont be able to fit the cotter pin.
Did you follow the instructions on setting the adjustment for it?
I've had no problems with mine like you describe, and most if not all megashifters are a little stiff getting out of park.

No it isn't the factory one. It looks like yours just has 2 holes instead of three. I got it working today finally. Everything is back together again. I had alittle trouble getting the cable set just right. Its gotta be perfect. I finally got it to go all the way into 1st and go into park everytime. Dash is in. Everything is done.
It is pretty stiff coming out of park but like you said its probably normal.

Personally I would get the 3 hole bracket, because it has the distances from the pivot set specifically for the megashifter with GM trans.
It is very possible to have the shifter in 2nd, and have the selector on the trans between 2nd and say 1st.

I'm pretty sure the 2 hole one I have is just an older one. Because the shifter is 2-3 years old. Thats probably all. I can get a new one from work for under 10$ so I may order it soon. I guess the cable wasnt adjusted like I thought. Still isn't hold first gear. Oh well I'll fix that later.
