4.10 rear end

i'l be building a 350 soon and i'm going to need to go through the rear end and was wondering if 4.10s would be good for street. does anyone here run them on the street? how do you like them?

BTW, i have a 2004r tranny with a .67 OD.

I slapped 4.10's on my bowtie and never been happier! Of course I run a diff. tranny than what you have,so you might wanna look further into that. Traction wise, bigger is better in my opinion but if gas milage is a factor i would go with 3.73's for the road.

I had 4.11 gears in my other rear still have it, I noticed a big increase with them from 3:42's for street racing they are a blast but, just about anything else I really did not like them

but forget traction

i just have a mild 350, about 295rwhp, with a WC t5 behind it. This combination pulls extremly hard with the 4.10's. but traction is a major problem, even at the track.

295rwhp, thats about what i'm looking for. what do you have in your engine? i'm going to put on 041 double hump heads and a crane 278-2 with a little under 10:1 compression probably.

what do you run in the 1/4 with that setup? thx.

Time to let the secrets out

its nothing special, just a comp 270H cam, ported heads, weiand stealth intake, custom built carb, and exhaust. the heads are what make the engine have such good power.

the car is 13.3-4 capable, but some suspension problems arent letting me get traction with the 4.10 gears. the car doesnt get traction until half track....

the best time is a 14.0 with a 2.2 60', but i trap at 103mph.

cant wait for the new engine though:lala:

what rpms are you shifting at? it is a TH350 or 700R4? 4.10's might be to much, but thats just my opinion.

4.10's wont be to much for the new engine

anyways i have a t5, and i shift at 6100. on the dyno the power started to drop off above that, however the car still seems to pull really well at 6100, but i figure since its a bone stock bottom end 6100 rpm is plenty
