New T56 shatterproof Bellhousing

I've been searching for a factory LT1 bellhousing for a while on ebay with little luck. So i started looking for other options i found out that mcleod makes a LT1 T-56 Shatter proof. It has no hyd brackets so you would have use a Hyd throw out bearing that would not bother me but i dont know if the bellhousing is thicker than factory one so im not sure if will push tranny back causing the tranny mount and shifter not to line up. Also making driveshaft to long.

So if you know about this or had any experience with this i would like to hear about it thanks for your reply's.

If you have a factory one for sale let me know also.

try Lakewood. they make scatter shield bellhousings for a variety of applications. if the housing you were looking at had no hydraulic slave cyl mounting brackets you would need to use a z-bar manual release mechanism.

as for thickness. a shatter proof or scattershield bell is made out of steel instead of cast materials, it should be the same and not change the position of of the tranny at all. the lakewood scatter shields we use on the engine dyno are actually thinner, except for the tranny mounting flange area, than their stock cast iron or aluminum counterparts.
