ive gotta replace my 700r4 in my 87 bird. few ques?
i have a 87 bird with the 2.8 in ti and the 700r4 trany. its a great running little car and its pretty quick. my front pump crapped out on me and now every gear is neutral. i have another 700r4 from a 92 bird 3.1 to put in mine. the 92 trany has 126,000 mi on it now. my friend is gonna help me rebuild it. i want to beef it up a little bit though. here is what i have planned for the trany rebuild. if anyone has any idea or suggestions please tell me to help me with this. im gonna get the TCI master racing overhaul kit, TCI racing bands, TCI .500 boost valve, b&m servo kit, b&m kickdown kit, b&m shift kit and top it off with b&m synthetic trany fluid. as for the torque converter im unsure of. i want to find one with about a 500rpm higher stall. where can i get a good cheap converter? everyone says the v8 cconverters are different than the v6's

you might want to go to www.pro-built.net and get one of their rebuilt kits, comes with corvetter servo, transgo shift kit, etc. Also the 4 and 6 cylinder S-10s got a higher stall converter than the F-Body v8s but i dont know whether or not they are any higher than what you already have. Might want to do alittle research.
yes the s10 converters prolly are a higher stall than mine. i have the stock 92 700r4 converter for my bird. does anyone know what year s10's i can get a torque converter out of and how much higher is the stall on them.
