5-speed whine??

Hey guys, If a transmission is whinning but does not grind and goes into every gear fine doesn;t it just mean that it needs fluid?? someone on this board has a tremec for sale and he said it was drivin for 30 miles without fluid cause it leaked out and he doesnt know how. But he said it just whines. Now that would probably go away with the correct fluid right??

Not likely...the whining is an indication that damage has been done. You could expect to replace all the bearings in it...hopefully each bearing has it's own seperate race like the phase 2 T-5's, and don't ride directly on the shafts like the phase 1 units did.
