5 speed trans question
5 speed trans question
I have a 5 speed from an '85 2.8l sitting in my garage. A t5 right? The only standard that was factory behind the 2.8's and the 305's was the T5? I have a fellow that would like it but he seems to think there was a different 5 speed behind the v8's. We just need the info to make a deal.
Thanks

He's right....the V6 unit won't directly bolt up to a V8 - the splines on the input shaft are different, plus the internal gearing makes the gearsets weaker.

The T5 used behind the 2.8 is junk, and shouldn't be used with a V8, even though it might be possible with a custom clutch. In good faith I wouldn't sell it to someone for this purpose.
