Which line is tranny fluid return?

Is the return fluid line from the radiator the top line or or the bottom one.?

I need to install my tranny cooler in series on the return line.

thanks

i usually put it in series before the stock cooler...

that way in winter, your fluid isnt overcooled, the engine water temp brings it up to temp quicker, and keeps it a lil more constant...

Larry

I am pretty sure its the bottom.

Take the top one off and have a buddy start the car real quick and shut it down, the one that flows is the feed, of course.

I am about to plumb in a cooler myself, I am stil debating if I will run it stand alone or inline with the factory cooler.

Bottom pressure, top return on the 700R4.

I have a tranny cooler and I have been trying to decide if it is better to put it before or after the radiator cooler. The intrusions that came with my B&M cooler said to put it after the radiator cooler.

What is the optimum temperature for transmission fluid?

Thanks Dana, or whoever answered from Probuilt. Im finally putting on that Th350 I got from you, my 700r4 went completely recently. The Tranny cooler instructions say put it on after the radiator so I guess I will use the top one. I got a Perma cool trimline one, I think it is 18,000 GVs or whatever the units are. Do you think that will be OK? The longest I will drive it will be to HOuston Raceway park dragstrip which is about one hour from here on the freeway.

I will be installing the TH350 this weekend, but Im getting the cooler ready to go now to be doing something.

Another question. The cooler I bought is supposed to attache to the radiator in the front using some plastic cable tie type thingys. You are supposed to put the cable throught the holes in the cooler and then through the holes in the radiator, then tie it in the back with the tie pieces. I was going to do that last night when I remembered these cars have like two radiator coils, one I guess is the radiator and the other the air coniditioning. How the heck can I put it throught both with them being so close togehter, just force it through there? Is this recommended? can I damage something? What about another way to mount it, like to the crossed support brace in front of the radiator, or some other place?
thanks

Just push the ties through the radiator and AC condensor.

You wont hurt anything thats how its done.

Also Larry,

Tell us about your fans and how your cooling system is setup.
Turn on temps, manual switches etc... That will impact placement on the radiator as well.
