aluminum drive shaft

will the aluminum ds off a 4th gen fbody fit on a 3rd gen fbody?

Car: '89 Formula, '97 Z28, '88 Formula 350

Engine: 305 TBI(LO3)

Transmission: TH700R4(MD8)

'83-'02 auto overdrive trannys(TH700R4, 4L60, 4L60E) all use the same drive shaft. In '82 I don't think they offered a overdrive tranny, so I'm not sure about the three speed auto(TH350). I don't know about the 5 and 6 speed manuels. Anybody else know?

The 82 came with a 200c that will not work with the aluminum shaft. I'm pretty sure the t-5 shaft would have stayed the same as well

The 82 through 02 driveshaft is the same length for all factory installed transmissions in the F body according to GM. I just ordered a new Aluminum driveshaft last year....
