when i bought my 91 the previous owner said it has a ford 9 inch rear end with 4:10 gears and 35 spline axles.....well it def has that gear ratio cause i can tell when driving, but if i were to stick my head under the rear end, how could i tell if i have a real ford 9 inch?

 

Smooth backside of the rearend. No bolts. Drop out centersection.

 

pinion set very low in the center section compared to the ring gear.

 

alright im gonna take a look for these asap anything else to look for?

 

Here is what the 9" looks like. This one is in my 75 Camaro. You probably don't have a ladder bar setup, so forget the coil over springs and such. Tim
