Hello, I am new to the world of REAL horsepower and style. Well anyway i recently bought the car from my uncle who had it from new and cared for it mechanically and not so much cosmetically, nice car all around though i love it, well anyway i have a few questions.

one, how do i find out if i have posi trac, i cant find the ID tag on the rearend i think it might have fallen off over the last 13 years,

two, where would i look to find what engine measurments ( i.e. cams, pistons; 2.....) could i find out the benefits by researching the stock parts in a chiltons or what,

and finally anyone in the houston area know when and where there will be swap meets and other f body gatherings
because to me its not just a car its a way of life

3.08 looks to be what u should have, from that info i highly doubt u have posi unless some on put it in.

you have have a 10 bolt rear end.

the best thing to do is pull the cover, count teeth, and look to see if u have posi.

welcome to TGO!

Checking for posi.

One way I've found to check for posi came while selecting my fourth gen rear: Lift the rear end of the car in the air and secure it. Then place the car in neutral and rotate the driveshaft manually. If both tires rotate simultaneously, you have posi. This is the method for the layman.

pull the cover and look it's the only 100% sure way to know if you have posi or not and it's a good chance to change the oil.
