A couple 700r4 questions

Well i just got a 700r4 out of a 88 or 89 T/A and it appears that the speedo gear is electronic. I there anyway to convert it to mechanical without getting a whole other tailshaft?

And is there a way to make a manual lockup switch without buying the kits? I'm not running a computer anymore. I was thinking just run the wires off the connector on the trans and throw a switch in there. Good or more complicated?

thanks for any help!!!

Exchange the gears, from the old to the new, that's it. If you run a manual switch, hook it to the brake switch to unlock it when you deaccelarate. Remember at high throttle openings to turn off the lockup switch.

It's fairly simple to build a lockup system with a relay that won't require you to even think about it. There's a link to it somewhere on this forum. Do a search and I'm sure you'll find it.
