Shift point question.....

Three IROCs have stock 700r4's, and all have L98s. Yet they all shift at different points @WOT, anyone know why? I mean I am sure they all had the same shift points of out the factory.


My one buddy shifts at 4500, I shift at 5300-5400 rpm. What gives?

some trannies might have been taken care of better.

like after some racing in my 88 formula 350 the thing started slipping od wot at higher speeds then the tranny started sticking gears. got wrecked and i sold it before i had to fix it.

the thing is on that one the guy had the tranny flushed before i bought it, most likely hurt it more than if it were stock fluid.

yeah same here trannies were over the place.

my 88 iroc-z did ok seemed to be well taken care of and shifted slowish (stock) but fine.

and my car now i know it needs some help before i lose it, shift kit and some goodies and maybe a new tv cable and governor / springs.

i just want 4,800 shifts in every gear, is that so hard to ask for
