WHO KNOWS ABOUT CLUTCHES???
Okay, up-front confession....the car I'm talking about here is not my Camaro, it's my mother's Beretta. I figured this would still be a good place to ask, since clutches all basically operate the same way....and there are quite a few people on this forum that actually know what they're talking about.
Okay, the car is front-wheel drive with the 3.1 V6 and a 5 speed. Pedal pressure feels fine, but the clutch slips under a load or quick acceleration.
What would make it slip like this? Is it just the worn disc (I'm pretty sure it's very old and lived its life out), or could there be something else that might cause it? Also....because the disc is worn...is it possible that the flywheel got torn up the same way bad brake pads will tear up rotors??? I can drive stick, but I've never done any work with it nor learned how. Let me know what you think.
