will not stop leaking!!!!
Warnning kinda long.
Ok my tranny started leaking on tuesday(1-13-04) so on saturday i changed the oil and pan gasket and filter. i was thinkin it was the gasket. so sunday it was still leaking and i checked it it was still full so ok its still running off the tranny but yesterday i left work big puddle over my car get out and look and it was tranny fluid. go home check and it is still full. today on my way to work i notice smog coming from my car so i roll down the window smells like ATF so it in the parking lot look unfer my car and puddle and its leaking from the insection cover it looks like. my tranny has 170k and never rebuilt. so any help on why it would be leaking i was told it maybe coming from the front seal or the over flow but if its from the over flow is there something wrong with it to make pressure to make it come out?

i checked the front seal and it was dry and its not leaskin from the out put shaft or the sinding and return lines for the tranny cooler or the dip stick so i have no clue.
Tranny Leak
I had a similar problem with mine. It leaked for a while, tried pushing out the pan bolt holes and everything. Finaly ended up just buying an aluminum pan and it fixed it. Thants my 2 cents. I know they are a little expensive but.....it fixed the problem.

I don't know if the 700r4 has the same dipstick setup as my TH350 but the "tophat" shaped seal the dipstick is pushed into was split.I also thought it was the pan gasket and changed it.I was puzzled when I changed it again and it was still leaking.Problem was it was running down and along the gasket line.Hope you get it sorted.
