I want to install a manual transmission into my 1989 firebird. I just put a stout 350 in that makes probably around 375 horsepower and torqe. I want to know if I could take a t5 out of a v6 either from a third or 4th gen and use it. I plan on getting the g-force uprage kit so reliability should not be an issue. Will this work. Will it bolt up to a v8 t5 bellhousing. V6 trannies are cheaper and with the upgrade kit it should make it strong enough. Has anyone done this swap, is there anything extra that is involved with this swap?

 

a buddy of mine is currently running a v6 t5 behind his 305,

before that, it was in a 10 second street car.
