car leaps..
well, sometimes it's cool because it's like the car is saying 'hey, I'm ready to go..' Most of the time though, like stop-and-go traffic, it sucks.. Basically when I shift into drive, the car leaps forward and just,.. kicks.. sometimes it chirps the tires.. I know that some of the time it is due to my electric carb being rapped up a ways, but it still does it most of the time.. even when the engine is running normal. It's got some kind of shift kit in it and some cam.. not sure because I didn't do it.. so I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. I just need it to shift normal from park to drive..
Also , when I'm sitting still in drive, it really takes a lot of brakes to keep the car from moving. Very annoying at long stop lights. Any help would be apprieciated. Thanks

Set your idle to 900 RPM in Park and Neutral, or 600 RPM in gear. Set it while it is fully warmed up. When you start up the car each day, allow it to warm up enough and tap the throttle until you can get the RPMS between 900-1100 RPM, then you can shift into gear and go.
do hav another theory, but am not sure if it is the problem or not since I don't know the system too well.
But it COULD be the TV cable. I know my TV cable was screwed up when I did my engine swap, and it would always jump like that every time I put it into gear. Of course, it didn't really matter since my tranny could not live up to my motor (gonna kill that transmission guy) but anyway, I imagine that if the valve is open and there is more pressure than needed that a simple shift into gear could jump like that. Try adjusting the TV cable and see if that works.

I'm thinking the TV cable has got something to do with it. I've got an elec. choke Edelbrock Performer 600 carb, and I'm not sure it's hooked up correctly.. Anyone know the correct way to modify the tv cable for hookup to an edelbrock.. well, I'm gonna give it a stab and see what happens..
