2nd gen 4-speed vs. 3rd gen
Anyone know the difference of a 2nd gen camaro/firebird 4-speed to an early camaro/firebird 4-speed? as in the whole setup? i really need help on this, i think not many people on this board know much about it even tho 4-speeds did come in 3rd gens....one year if i remember correctly.(1982) Thanks in advance for any help!

The 2nd gen T-10s won't fit these cars without some work since they have no torque arm mount. The ONLY T-10 that will bolt directly in, is the one out of a 82, and then only with all of its ancillary pieces such as bell housing, clutch linkage, shifter, torque arm mount, etc.
If you use an aftermarket torque arm, you may be able to use an earlier one. I can't imagine using one of the adapters for the stock torque arm though, since it would have to go RIGHT THROUGH THE MIDDLE of the shifter body.
